Privacy notice
Last updated 17 September 2026 (support form added)
This notice explains what the RSL Family Foundation website (rslfamily.org) collects, why, how long it is kept, and how you can use your rights over it. In this notice "we" means RSL Family Foundation. Questions about this notice, and any request or complaint about your personal data, can be sent to [email protected].
In short
- Reading this website does not require any personal information.
- Visit statistics are recorded only if you choose "Allow", and never if your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control.
- If you use the chat assistant or the contact form, we keep what you send so we can answer and improve the website.
- We do not use advertising trackers, and we do not sell or share personal data.
The chat assistant
When you send a message to Quanta, the chat assistant, we save the message, the reply, the time, the page you were on, the kind of website that referred you (for example "google" or "direct"), your approximate country, your browser, operating system and device type (for example "chrome, android, mobile"), and a random identifier for your chat session, which is kept in your browser's session storage and removed when you close the tab. We do not ask for your name, and these records are not linked to it.
Replies are written automatically by an AI model. They can be wrong and are not advice of any kind. Please do not share sensitive personal information in the chat.
The contact form
When you send a message through the contact form, and tick the box to agree, we save your name, your email address, your message, the time, the page and your approximate country, so that we can reply to you. When you start using the form, it loads Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that the form is being used by a person. Cloudflare receives your IP address and some browser information for that check.
The "Be part of the cause" form
When you share your interest in supporting the Foundation's work on rslfamily.org/support, and tick the box to agree, we save your name, email address, the optional phone number, city and organisation you give, the ways you would like to be part of the work, your message, the time and your approximate country, so that we can reply to you by email. No payment is taken and no payment details are collected on this website. The form uses Cloudflare Turnstile in the same way as the contact form.
Visit statistics
Only if you choose "Allow" in the visit statistics bar, each time you leave a page we record the page, the time, how long it was open, how far it was scrolled, the website that referred you (its address only), any source, medium and campaign tags in the link, your browser, operating system and device type, your approximate location (country, region, city, postal code and coordinates) and the name of your network provider. Cloudflare works out the location and network provider from your internet connection.
We do not store your IP address. It is turned into a one-way value using a secret key and a random value that is created for each day and deleted when that day ends, after which the value cannot be matched to any address. A random identifier is kept in your browser's local storage for up to 12 months to tell repeat visits apart, and another in session storage for the current visit.
With your permission we also load Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies. It sends Cloudflare the page address, the referring website, your browser type, your approximate country and how long the page took to load.
Your choice is remembered in your browser for 12 months. You can change it at any time:
Why we use personal data
To answer your messages and questions, to understand which parts of the website are useful and how people find it, to improve the chat assistant, and to protect the website against spam and misuse. We rely on your consent: for the chat and contact form, by your choosing to send a message after reading this notice; for visit statistics, by your choosing "Allow". You can withdraw consent at any time, which does not affect anything done before you withdrew it.
Who processes it
Cloudflare, Inc. hosts the website, runs the AI model that writes chat replies, stores our records in a database in our Cloudflare account, provides the spam check and counts page views. Cloudflare may process this data in data centres outside India. We do not share personal data with anyone else, except where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Chat records and visit records are deleted automatically 12 months after they are made. Contact form messages and "Be part of the cause" submissions are deleted automatically after 24 months. We may delete any of them sooner.
How we protect it
The website is served only over encrypted connections. Records are kept in a database that is not publicly reachable. Access to it is limited to the Foundation's own Cloudflare account. The website applies strict security headers, limits how often forms and the assistant can be used, and checks the contact form for spam.
Your rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask us for information about the personal data we hold about you and how it is used, and ask us to correct, complete, update or erase it. You can withdraw your consent, nominate another person to exercise your rights if you die or become unable to, and raise a complaint with us, which we will try to resolve. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
To make a request, write to [email protected]. For contact form messages, please write from the email address you used. Chat and visit records are not linked to your name, so please tell us the approximate date, time and page so that we can find them. We aim to reply within 30 days.
Children
This website is not directed at children. Please do not send us personal information about a child. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, write to us and we will delete it.
Changes
If this notice changes, the date at the top of this page will change too.
